Greatest nature film ever

You really have to watch this. It is a time-lapse film of sea creatures eating a dead seal in Antarctica. If you have never taken LSD, this film is surely a suitable approximation of the experience. Not recommended for the faint of heart.

It's hard to believe it's real, and not some over-the-top CGI thing.

Some years back, there was a BBC series about the oceans. In one of the episodes the deep sea explorer came upon a whale carcass deep in the abyss.

There, one of the ugliest fish I have ever seen, hagfish were devouring the flesh along with 7 gill sharks and a plethora of smaller creatures. It was interesting, although the hagfish reminded me of lamprey eels... most unpleasant.

I like how colourful it is. Rare for underwater footage. They probably used filters to correct the shift.

It's neat to see starfish moving so quickly too with the time-lapse. Way cool.

I love the time compression--how agile the sea stars are at this frame rate.
Having done stop-motion animation, seeing that many things moving at the same time boggles.
