I didn't realize I had been so confused. I am confused no longer, and shall never use the wrong term again:

How did we ever live without Wikipedia?

It's an incredible resource. I keep putting it off, but I really should set up a monthly recurring donation like I do to TWiT.tv. If I'm around computers, it's a somewhat unusual day if I don't consult Wikipedia.

Ditto. I've always said, "The UK and the Channel Islands", forgetting that doesn't include Man.

The statement about the established church is incomplete. It is Anglican only in England & Wales. In Scotland it is Presbyterian. (Don't know about Northern Ireland.) Thus, the Queen's title "Defender of the Faith" delicately avoids mention of *which* faith.
