I hereby define a new word, "gatebagging", to mean "the creation of false scandals, described by words ending in "-gate", as undertaken by teabaggers".

There are currently no google hits to the word "gatebaggers" and nothing relevant to "gatebagging", so I think this might be entirely original.

I will now stop being a political troglodyte, I promise.

It would be wonderful if this entered the general vocabulary. I would be so proud to have the first documented use of it!

Well, it's an elegant and badly-needed word. But so is "Y'all", which is likewise elegant (modulo the apostrophe) and even more badly needed, but still is not considered acceptable in correct speech. OTOH, the self-righteous descriptivist is just as craniorectally impacted as the pious prescriptivist.

To my ears it sounds like when one is catching gates. Bagging them like bagging a duck, that is, shooting it.
But hey, this whole -gate suffix is trippy. Within a few decades a new language construction has been created while we watched.
