Laser printer in the rain
Mar. 3rd, 2010 08:07 pmDropped off my badly-functioning laser printer at the transfer station for recycling. A new toner cartridge was costing more than an entire new laser printer.

I had envisioned a neat clean warehouse where electronics were respectfully shuttled off to their highest purpose, whatever that might be, while evaluated and attended to by nerdy men in white coats. It was nothing more than a rectangular area of a parking lot. Leaving it in a sad heap in the rain really bothered me for some reason.
It was a crappy printer. But I do understand the instinct to hoard. I just grit my teeth but it's not easy. I think of it as a "compassion disorder".
