So. I turn 40 on April 1 but will be observing it on Saturday the 3rd.

We will be having something of a party, nothing very formal: make pizza, drink beer, spend the night. John's sister will be visiting, and straight people may be there during the day, but the nearby "smut shack" (including sling) will be heated and open at any time for those who wish to squeal like a pig.

Come by any time after 2 PM, bring a sleeping bag and/or pad if you wish to sleep over. There is sleeping space inside near the fire, outside on decks, or camping on the ground.

We're 100 miles north of SF; getting here involves a couple of miles of gravel road. RSVP if you want to come and I'll send directions.

I'm RSVP'ing. Sounds like a good time.

Hmmm... At this point I don't think I can arrange it but one never knows. People cycle longer distances but I don't know if I'm up for that distance.
Let me know though if you get an RSVP from someone up here with room in their vehicle.

Can you make it to Rosa?

I don't know where that is. I can't find it on Google maps.

Egad!

Santa Rosa. We're a half way stop to Tony's, on 101.

A 1000 pardons, Bluebear. I just normally assume everybody's coming from San Francisco.

It's cool.
Oh, that's local shorthand down there I guess. I'm not very familiar with the locations of California places but I'm getting more familiar all the time.
It looks like Amtrak goes down that way. They've upgraded the rails between Vancouver and Bellingham in anticipation of some sort of high speed passenger rail. That'd be cool if that happened.
Still not sure if I'll make it but it'd be nice to get out of town. The Olympics were fun and all but now the city here is like it has some bad hangover.

My favorite niece was also born on that day.

QBT is so late this year that it sorta curtails any birthday party over here. And because it's so late, I'm not sure if I can come, due to temps.

So maybe your birthday is a good alternative.

When is your birthday party? I didn't know that QBT was messing up your plans... and we do have a cool place for you to stay if it's hot again, which is actually not very likely.

My recollection on Ukiah is: Early May is OK, Late May is too hot (for me)

Also, since my birthday is 30 May, if QBT comes close to that, then I can't see most people doing both.

But it's OK: We didn't plan any parties for last year anyway....

Hopefully it’s not too late for me to Respond So Very Promptly (yeah, right) to this.
