A few new fun things today... what I love about travel, you never know what's coming next.

- Ape cave. A long lava tube on the south flank of St. Helens. Not as impressive as the Lassen tubes, but cool nonetheless. I was the only person there, which was great, but unfortunately my flashlight was not up to the task. In the black cave, you couldn't even tell it was turned on. Worth a repeat visit though.

- First ride in a Corvette. Not a big deal, but what can I say, I'm easily entertained.

- a crazy guy talked to me at a rest stop. I couldn't figure out what he was talking about until he opened a small purse and produced... A sugar glider! SO KYOOT!!!!! He said it was getting restless and needed to "see some trees". Unfortunately I didn't get to pet it. Truly a random pleasure.

Tomorrow is designated as a work day. We shall find out if I'm a real digital nomad or merely a lost cubicle droid. The difference is the ability to produce billable work in the most distracting of environments. And where I am right now is pretty bloody distracting, with about half a dozen dogs competing for my attention. And beer. Beer is very distracting.

My advice. Don't drink the beer until you've got a certain amount of work done already.

That Ape Cave things sounds neat. Gotta check it out sometime.

Gute Reise.

The Corvette is one of the few decent cars GM makes, IMNSHO.

I've never "met" a sugar glider (considering they're illegal as pets in California, that's not surprising), but they sure do look cute!

Ape Cave was fantastic... I hiked that a few years ago. If nothing else, being underground in cool air suited me perfectly when it was 90+ degrees outside with a high UV index. I'd do it again.

My first ride in a Vette was way back in the late 60s. They were fast, loud and rattly.
Jon bought a 50th Anniversary Edition a few years back. Light years difference. It was almost--can I say this about a GM--refined?

I had to look up what a sugar glider was ... interesting ... if not a little disturbing that he is keeping one in a purse.

It seemed quite happy in there, it was a comfy little canvas pouch with mesh for ventilation. The guy was really nuts but he was nice to it. Not quite an Of Mice And Men situation, lol.

That does make me feel better about it.
Not quite of Mice and Men, but close ...?
