Finally got all my internet turf consolidated with GoDaddy. My rakko.org domain had been hosted by Best Internet, which was later purchased by Verio, and it's languished there for something like ten years. Their spam filtering sucks, their mail client is glacially slow, I can never figure out how to get my account information, and they aren't exactly quick about answering the phone. Having been a Best customer, I suspect that I got marooned on a little island of legacy neglect. So I was paying twenty bucks a month for what, exactly?
Re-hosting the domain was a nail-biting experience but it's all done now and it works just fine. Yay.
I have to say, GoDaddy has the most FABULOUS customer support I've ever encountered. They're prompt, polite, and knowledgeable, and I'm rarely on the phone for more than five minutes before everything is fixed up. I have no idea how they can afford to do it.

Date: 2010-09-16 01:44 am (UTC)I have been recommending globat.com for anything sexy, and dreamhost.com for anything else, but I guess I out to make sure that's still valid.
I can get people $50 off the first year at dreamhost btw.
