Wildflowers of the Siskiyou
May. 29th, 2011 10:38 pmJust got home a few hours ago. It was a very good day for wildflower photography, I was running all over the Siskiyou along highway 199 taking snapshots. Most of these are still awaiting identification, please feel free to chime in.

This one is the flower of a Darlingtonia, a kind of carnivorous pitcher plant:

Date: 2011-05-30 06:07 pm (UTC)The flower (which also seems rather old) was taken at the Eight Dollar Mountain botanical boardwalk, where the foliage was almost completely decayed. This photo was taken at the "botanical trail" on the California side where there were very few flowers. I'm not sure when they're actually green.
