I am unable to take the "politics test" quiz that's going around lately: I cannot read the questions without spraying whatever is in my mouth all over the keyboard.

Natural selection "explaining" homelessness? Um, can I get back to you on that?

The fact that it's still floating around in the same form after ten years or so is rather its own disproof of natural selection.

Well, the problem is, I don't even know what it's asking. If natural selection were not a force of nature, there would be no humans to be homeless in the first place.

Is schizophrenia one cause of homelessness? Probably. Is it a phenomenon shaped by natural selection? Yes. Are we wise to wave away all issues related by homelessness in the name of social Darwinism? Um... well, that seems to me what the question is really about, but the discourse surrounding it is so crude that it seems best to not even participate.

Yeah, that's why I persist in my refusal to take it. I'm heartily sick of responding to surveys where you always have to suss out what the idiot designer is really asking instead of just answering the question as written.
