Here's the first example of an application I've been wanting for a very long time:

It's a social-network carpool coordinator. I don't know the details of how it works, but this is something that could hugely change our society. All those empty seats in cars, and all the people that would like to get somewhere... there are only two reasons those butts aren't in those seats, and they are lack of information, and lack of trust.

The lack of information problem is not so hard. The lack of trust is more complicated.

Yes I suppose it is a good idea. But I am much too self centered to join in. Driving my car is the only time I actually have to myself. I can listen to the music I enjoy as loudly as I care too. Or I can be as quiet as I care too. I can scream rant and rave, if I care too. Or I can smile like an idiot, if I care too. But the best part is no other energy in the car but my own.
