A couple of interesting things this weekend:

- The Rainbow Motorcycle Club (that's us) is holding a "reer rust" at the Hole in the Wall on Saturday from 4-7. I'm providing snacks. This promises to be a VERY wild party with much beer and debauchery. I hear it's good luck to be pissed on by a biker! Skeptical? Come find out for yourself, it's sure to lift your spirits.

- There's an orchid show at Fort Mason that is consistently the best and most amazing I've ever seen. Ted and I will be going as soon as they open at 10 AM on Sunday, so if you're interested in hooking up let me know. Like so many queers I happen to know a LOT about orchid biology, so if you want the whole spiel on whatever is on display just ask, I don't inflict it on the unwilling. ;-)

(LOL, I see they used the exact same dreamweaver template I used for Mosscamp.)

You are one of very few people I know who can make a post, in all sincerity, that covers a debauchfest and an orchid show.

Good luck to be pissed on by a biker, eh? Hadn't heard that one, but I did come up with this in response to Bill's old post about his boots:

LOL.

You mean there is a difference between orchid appreciation and raunchy biker smut? I always saw them as pretty much the same thing!

Dan beat me to it, but yeah, the juxtaposition caught my eye as well. Such a fine place to live, where your social calender can easily book both. Here, it takes a bit more work...

and I arrive the Bay Area on Sunday too late for both debauchery and orchids. I hope we get an opportunity to at least say hello while I'm in California.

Paul has a plant of SLC Jewelbox Dark Waters that is putting on an incredible display right now. The original pseudobulb sat in a ziplock bag for two years thumb tacked to the wall of the old yurt. One day, Paul noticed it had started to send out a new shoot and then roots. He potted it up and now, nine years later, it has thirty-three blooms open with another fifteen to open in the next two weeks.

Having grown up in the Rockies, I assumed that SLC meant Salt Lake City, but Paul says it has another meaning here. When it comes to orchids, Paul is the driver and I'm just along for the ride.

Sorry we missed the Reer Rust. Fate conspired against us on the way there.

Hope y'all had a good time.
