Fire on Foresthill Road

Oh bugger, a forest fire has closed the road to Foresthill, where we are going tomorrow en route to French Meadows.

Don't know how long it will remain closed, I'm crossing my fingers. Hope they get it out soon, fires are terribly destructive up there.

I called the Red Dirt Saloon guys, and there was a party going on. They dismissed the fire as anything serious.

There are no other fires in the area, so the fire is being attacked by all the local firemen in the area. Fire fighting conditions are favorable for fighting the fire by night.

Apparently the Foresthill Exit is reopened as of 9PM. However, if something new happens and the Foresthill exit is closed Friday, I have posted directions to Foresthill by way of Colfax, which is 12 miles down the road on I-80.
