Had a little rain today, which helped settle the dust and made for some excellent light for photography.

This is one of the two chalochortus species I've seen up here. A very curious flower - here's another view:

Sorry, I can't resist the raindrops on petals thing.
Yet another species is known locally as a fairy-lantern:

It's a very diverse genus, sorry I don't know the species names for these.
With just enough rain to get things damp, the moss is unrolling, saying "enh, I don't think so", and going right back into hibernation.

The buckeye is also blooming, which is a short but striking event:

New woodpecker granary. Actual woodpecker photos will have to wait until I find my telephoto lens again.
